When you run a check

We store the address you enter, the pages and photos we read from it, the sentences we search for and what the searches return. This is kept for 14 days so you can come back to your results, and then deleted.

To stop the check being run in bulk, we keep a scrambled (one-way hashed) form of your connection's IP address for counting checks. We never store the address itself, and these counts are cleared after a day.

When you ask for help

If you fill in the help form under your results, we store your email, the name and message you give, and a short summary of the matches. A person uses these to reply to you, and for nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list. To have it deleted, reply to our email and say so.

Who else sees what

  • Search. The sentences and photo addresses we pick from your site are sent to a search provider (Serper, which queries Google) to find other pages.
  • Dates. Page addresses are looked up in the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, and domain names in the public registration (RDAP) records.
  • Hosting. The site and its database run on Cloudflare.

We do not sell any of it, and there is no advertising or tracking on this site. We set no cookies of our own.
